Pask - Our Story

While flying above the ancient Ngaruroro riverbed in his topdressing plane founder, Chris Pask, saw an opportunity to grow exceptional grapes. The valley's sun-kissed, light, stony soils, sheltered from the Pacific-breeze were perfect for wine-growing. It was here that Pask’s first vines were planted over four decades ago. Our maiden vintage, a prized 1985 Cabernet Sauvignon, marked the start of the world-renowned Gimblett Gravels wine-growing district and established the Pask brand as the region’s founding growers.

Now under the care of the Benton Family, our passion for making authentic wines to be shared and enjoyed has only grown stronger. Our award-winning winemaking team employs sustainable methods to ensure the quality and consistency of our wines. We provide hands-on care throughout the entire winemaking process, from grape-picking in our 60 hectares of vineyards to bottling onsite at our Hawke's Bay winery.

At Pask, we are dedicated to producing enduring, high-value wines. Our winery is staffed by a small team of devoted individuals who are passionate about creating something special in every bottle.
